The following library rules will be in effect at all times:
- Do not take any book or other library material out of the library without following the borrowing procedures.
- Please ensure to return the borrowed items by the due date.
- Loss or damage to Library material on loan to a user should be reported immediately. The user must pay the cost of replacing a lost or seriously damaged item, in addition to any fine which may have accrued.
- Readers should not mark, underline, dog-ear, write, tear pages or otherwise damage the library documents.
- The Library is provided for the purpose of academic study and research. Any conduct inconsistent with this purpose or detrimental to its pursuit shall constitute a breach of school rules.
- The Library is for the enjoyment of all users. Even talking in a whisper or standing and chatting may be disturbing to others. Please be considerate and keep the noise level down as you browse, study, or relax with library material.
- Bags are not allowed in the library.
- Phones should be kept switched off during school hours and on silent or vibrate after school hours
- Chairs and tables and other library equipment, fittings and furniture may not be marked, defaced, or rearranged.
- Food and drink must not be consumed in the library.
- Books, serials, etc., taken from shelves and used in the Library should be left on the tables after use and NOT replaced on the shelves.
- The Librarian may report to the administration of St. Stephen’s College any person responsible for serious or persistent breach of these rules.
